施保基 牧师 Pastor Larry Spargimino

Dr. Larry Spargimino (he loves to be called “Pastor Larry”) received his Ph.D. degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and has been active in teaching, writing books, writing radio scripts on news items of concern for Christians, as well as pastoring, leading Bible conferences and engaging in overseas mission work. He has ministered in Honduras, taught in a Chinese Seminary on the Island of Saipan, and was privileged to start Grace Bible Church in 2009, and Grace Charity School in 2010—both located in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Pastor Larry has written books on theological subjects, such as The Anti-prophets and the Challenge of Preterism, and also No Uncertain Future, a beginner’s commentary on the Book of Revelation.  His real love is missions and international revival. He just finished the section in the book I Predict, titled “The Next Great Awakening,” and co-authored Final Fire:  Is The Next Great Awakening Right Around the Corner?”

Pastor Larry preaches regularly at Trinity Chinese Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and also teaches the English Sunday School Class there. He continues to serve with the expanding ministry of Southwest Radio Ministries in Oklahoma City, an international radio and television ministry that started in Oklahoma City in April of 1933. He is currently contributing to a book on current events and God’s redemptive plan, and also writing a full-length book dealing with the amazing progress of the Gospel in hostile areas

Pastor Larry came to know Christ as Lord and Savior in a Chinese congregation in New York City, and has a real love for Chinese people and food. His wife Jennifer, is from Hong Kong. They have one daughter who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.

        韋理信牧師於1927年10月22日出生於奧克拉荷馬州的Shawnee市, 他曾在Smackover, Malvern, Ark. 及Tucson, Ariz等地居住。他分別獲取奧克拉荷馬州浸信會大學音樂教育學士學位，德克薩斯州西南浸信會神學院宗教教育碩士及教育博士學位。韋博士於1948年與施寶芬女士（Elizabeth Schreiber）結婚，他們共育有4名子女。

    韋博士曾任美軍後備軍人及美國空軍。及後，他分別在奧克拉荷馬州的Ada 及Cushing，德克薩斯州的Dallas, Fort Worth等地的教會擔任音樂和教育主任，他在1978年再次被委任為宣教士前，曾擔任奧克拉荷馬州浸信會大學宗教教育教授和西南浸信會神學院教授，又分別在西南浸信會神學院(德克薩斯州)、中西浸信會神學院及東南浸信會神學院擔任客席教授。

    韋博士在1975年被選為美國傑出教育家，1978-1979年及1979-80年分別被選為Who’s Who in the South and Southwest；1991年被選為奧克拉荷馬州浸信會大學傑出校友，1992年獲Shawnee市的奧克拉荷馬州浸信會大學頒授榮譽神學博士，1995年獲得香港浸會大學頒授社會科學榮譽博士學位。

    韋博士於1956年12月成為宣教士，1957-1962年，在香港學習語言，1958-1959年，擔任香港浸會學院署理副院長及教務長，1959-1972年擔任香港浸會學院宗教教育教授，1960-1961年擔任宗教活動總幹事，1962-1963年，擔任浸會學院文學院院長。1963-1964年擔任香港浸會學院署理副院長及院長，1965-1972年出任香港浸信會聯會秘書，1971 -1972年出任香港浸會學院教務長。

    1973年，韋博士曾請辭宣教士服事，1978年他再度被美南浸信會委任為宣教士，1979-1986年，他擔任香港浸信會神學院教務長，1979-1981年擔任香港浸信會神學院署理院長，1981-1994年，擔任香港浸信會神學院院長，1987-1993年，他更擔任亞洲浸信會神學研究院（Asia Baptist Graduate Theological Seminary）院長。同時，韋博士在本港的浸信教會熱心事奉，曾被尖沙嘴浸信會先後按立為執事和牧師。他在擔任浸信會神學院院長期間，積極提倡華人神學教育本色化，於是推行儲備師資計劃，先後栽培了多位優秀的校友前往海外深造，讓他們學成後返回母校任教。此外，他更致力拓展課程的類別和範圍，於1987年神學院便增設了教牧學學士課程及副修教會音樂課程，並信徒領袖訓練課程等。韋博士為人謙和有禮，風趣開朗，辦事有魄力，他對待同學和藹可親，並且會因材施教。1此外，他講得一口流俐廣東話，中文造詣頗深，能吟詩作對，令人拍手叫好，他的中文水平比一般香港人還高呢！韋博士是一位深受神學院各位師生及教會的同工同道們所愛戴的學者和牧者。

    1995年1月，他前往紐西蘭，在奧克蘭佈道，之後，他擔任紐西蘭Pakutanga Chinese Baptist Church牧師，負責策劃教會發展，直至1998年8月退休。

    自2010年起，任三一华语浸信会的义务牧师。
